Refer to pictures below for RFID Item code:
This technology uses Radio signals to communicate a unique identity wirelessly.
The RFID solution used for this solution primarily is used for in-facility inventory accuracy and allows hundreds of items to be uniquely identified and counted within seconds.
We recommend referencing the Walmart-provided playbook and product placement guides to assist in determining RFID compliance.
This identity is known as the Electronic Product Code (EPC) and is composed of a GTIN (UPC or EAN barcode), and a serial number. Since this serial number range is available per UPC/EAN, there is a significant quantity of EPC combinations that can be used to maintain uniqueness.
Typically, the easiest method to maintain serialization across multiple suppliers would be to manage serial number ranges.
It is the assumed responsibility of the UPC/EAN owner to ensure multiple vendors are not encoding RFID tags for the same item.
In order to combat any tampering, chip providers have created the capability to lock (requiring a password to write to the tag), or permalock (blocking the chip from ever being rewritten) their memory contents.
Walmart has requested that RFID tags that are sent to them be permalocked.
While unlocked tags can be requested, Avery Dennison’s best practice is to lock or permalock tags.
RFID Tags programmed by Avery Dennison will be permalocked for the Walmart RFID program upon encoding.
Please go to the site https://gepir.gs1.org/ and select the appropriate option to search the registration records. If you do not have a registered GS1 GTIN, then you will need to register your GS1 GTIN prior to submitting it to Auburn RFID Lab for approval.
For frequently asked questions see below.
Note: If you are NOT the person who will be placing the production order, do not fill out this form. Please forward it to the right contact to fill out.

Walmart Submission Form
See the General RFID Tagging Guideline by Packaging type playbook.
Please refer to the Auburn RFID Submission Guide for instructions on how to submit.
A minimum of six photos and one video is required.
The number of form submissions will depend on the number of brands and labels and/or tags you need. For example: Supplier XYZ supplies for Brand A and Brand B. Brand A needs a sticker and a hang tag and Brand B needs just a sticker. Supplier XYZ would need to submit the form 3 times.
** Validate your UPC/EAN are GS1 Compliant** Visit https://gepir.gs1.org/index.php/search-by-gtin and type in your UPC to validate GS1 registration.
If the item is not found or does not belong to your organization, please locate and contact your regional GS1 office.
See the pictures on our sample order form for stickers/tag options that have the approved inlays.
Please note that the number of form submissions depends on Step 1 and that all Avery Dennison samples meet approval standards for Auburn RFID Lab.

• We offer factory training - our Global Factory Training team has trained over 2800 factories across 28 countries
Brands are looking for more control over their labeling. The pandemic forced factories to become more vertical in production; data accuracy and in-plant printing solutions have become key to this goal.
Print RFID labels right on site
Avery Dennison’s In-Plant Printing Solutions allow you to print your own care labels, price tickets, and barcode stickers (with or without RFID). This gives retail brands and factories full control, with no minimum order quantities, and the ability to react to last-minute changes and requests- all while reducing waste and dead stock. Benefits that directly translate into cost reduction, time saved, and reduced risk.

Integrate retail brand and factory
RFID systems consist of three components:
• RFID readers (or interrogators)
• Software (or middleware) to feed collected data into IT systems
• RFID tags or intelligent labels
Tags respond to the RFID radio wave produced by the RFID scanner. No line of sight to the barcode is required. During a Cycle Count, the ID of each RFID tag is read by the RFID Reader and synced with the store stock files.
RFID scanners can count dozens of items at SKU level in a matter of seconds and allow for quick inventory of merchandise at item, color, size, and SKU level. RFID also enables a quick review of missing colors and sizes that need to be restocked to the sales floor to help increase sales.
Each RFID tag has a microchip inside it that contains the tag’s unique ID number (Electronic Product Code or EPC).
No two tags have the same number.
